De Martino graduated in biotechnology and pharmacology from the University of Naples in 2003. He obtained his PhD in neuroscience from the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at the University College London.
He is researching human decision-making by integrating economic models with computational and cognitive neuroscience tools. He is trying to elaborate and upgrade economic concepts with complementary knowledge.
For two years, he has been working as a post-graduate researcher at the Economics Department of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Currently, he is employed as a researcher at the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences at the University College London.
