Jure Mikuž
art historian

Prof. Dr. Jure Mikuž is a leading representative of an art-history school that goes beyond the boundaries of an otherwise conservative and rigid field of humanities. He has written twenty books and the list of his publications comprises over seven hundred items.
In addition to research, he has been involved with since his university studies, he also worked as a curator, director of the Gallery of Modern Arts between 1972 and 1992 and Deputy Minister of Culture between 1993 and 1994.
He is a lecturer and Head of Historical Anthropology of Visual Arts at the Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis at the Ljubljana Graduate School of the Humanities, and ordinary professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana.
